Collection of general information

When you access our website, we automatically collect information of a general nature. This information (server log files) includes the type of web browser, the operating system, the domain name of your internet service provider and similar information. This information is exclusively of the type that does not allow us to draw any inferences about your person; it is a technical prerequisite to correctly delivering the requested website content and is a mandatory feature of using the internet. Anonymous information of this kind is statistically evaluated by us in order to be able to optimize our website and the technology behind it.

Like many other websites, we also use so-called “cookies”. Cookies are small text files which are transferred from a website server to your hard drive. This automatically provides us with certain data about your computer and your connection to the internet, such as the IP address, the operating system and the browser used.
Cookies cannot be used to start programs or transmit viruses to a computer. Based on the information contained in our cookies, we can make navigation easier for you and ensure that our web pages are correctly displayed.
Under no circumstances will we pass along the data we collect to third parties or link this to any personal data without your consent.
Of course you can also view our website without the use of cookies. Internet browsers are routinely set to accept cookies. You can deactivate the use of cookies at any time by using your browser settings; the help functions of your internet browser will tell you how to change those settings. Please note that some features of our website may not work if you have disabled the use of cookies.

When subscribing to our newsletter, the data you provide will be used exclusively for this purpose. Subscribers may also be notified by e-mail of circumstances relevant to the service or registration (for example changes to the newsletter offerings or technical matters).
For the registration to be effective, we require a valid e-mail address from you. To verify that the registration has been made by the actual owner of an e-mail address, we use the “double opt-in” procedure. For this purpose, we log your newsletter subscription, the sending of a confirmation e-mail and the receipt of your response. No further data is collected. The data is used exclusively for sending the newsletter and is not passed on to any third parties.
You can revoke your consent to our storing of your personal data and its use for the newsletter mailing at any time. In each newsletter, you’ll find a corresponding link. You can also unsubscribe directly from the website at any time or inform us of your request by using the contact option at the end of this data protection notice.

Contact form

If you contact us by e-mail or via the contact form, the information you have provided will be stored for the purpose of processing your inquiry and for possible follow-up questions.

Use of Google Webfonts

In order to present our contents correctly and in a graphically appealing manner independent of the browser used, this website makes use of script libraries and font libraries such as Google Webfonts ( Google Webfonts are transferred to your browser’s cache to avoid multiple loading. If your browser does not support Google Webfonts or does not allow access, content will be displayed in a default font.
Calling up script or font libraries automatically triggers a connection to the library operator, giving rise to the theoretical possibility that operators of the corresponding libraries could collect data – although it is currently unclear whether this is actually taking place or what their motivation would be.
The privacy policy of the library operator Google can be found here:

Use of Google Maps

This website uses the Google Maps API to display geographical information visually. When using Google Maps, Google also collects, processes and uses data about the use of map functions by visitors. You can find out more about Google’s data processing policies in the Google Privacy Policy. There you can also change your personal data protection settings at the data protection centre.
You’ll find detailed instructions for managing your data in connection with Google products here.

Embedded YouTube videos

Some of our websites contain embedded YouTube videos. YouTube, LLC, 901 Cherry Ave., San Bruno, CA 94066, USA is the operator of the corresponding plugins. When you visit a page with the YouTube plugin, a connection to YouTube servers is established. YouTube will be informed of which pages you visit. If you are logged into your YouTube account, YouTube can assign your surfing behaviour to you personally. You can prevent this by logging out of your YouTube account beforehand. If a YouTube video is started, the provider uses cookies that collect information about user behaviour.
If you have deactivated the storage of cookies for the Google Ad program, you will not have to reckon with such cookies when viewing YouTube videos. YouTube also stores non-personal usage information in other cookies. If you want to prevent this, you will need to block the saving of cookies in your browser.
Further information on data protection at “YouTube” can be found in the provider’s data protection declaration at:

Social plugins

Social plugins from the providers listed below are used on our websites. You can recognize the plugins by the fact that they are marked with the corresponding logo.
These plugins may be used to send information, which may include personal data, to the service provider and may be used by him. We prevent the unconscious and unwanted collection and transmission of data to the service provider through a 2-click solution. To activate a desired social plugin, it must first be activated by clicking on the corresponding button. Only this activation of the plugin triggers the collection of information and its transmission to the service provider. We do not ourselves collect any personal data through social plugins or their use.
We have no influence on which data an activated plugin collects or how this is used by the provider. At present, it must be assumed that a direct connection to the provider’s services is established and that at least the IP address and device-related information are recorded and used. It is also possible that the service providers try to save cookies on the computer used. Please refer to the data protection information of the respective service provider to find out what specific data is collected and how it is used.
